Meet Our Veterinarians

Dr. Billy Danowitz

Is a 2003 graduate of Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, which he attended after obtaining a BS degree at Penn State University. Following Veterinary School Dr. Danowitz completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. He is own of our practice owners here at BVH. His memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), and the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association (NJVMA). He has a special interest in ultrasonography, including both abdominal ultrasound and cardiac ultrasound.

Dr. Warren Briggs

Is a 1992 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario Canada. He has cared for the pets of Ocean County for many years and is one of the practice owners here at BVH. Dr. Briggs treats all kinds of companion animals including cats, dogs, reptiles, birds, rabbits, and much more. He has a special interest in laparoscopic or minimally invasive surgeries.

Dr. Dan Carabba

Is a graduate from Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, West Indies in January 2020. He completed his clinical year at University of Florida. He Received his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Rutgers University in 2016. As a Union County native, he is excited to be back in New Jersey.

Dr. Zachary Weiner

Is a 1997 graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary graduated from Tufts University Veterinary School in 2006 after earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst in 2002. After graduation, he performed a rotating clinical internship in West Hartford at The Veterinary Specialists of Connecticut. Following this he became an associate veterinarian in New Jersey. He has strong interests in animal behavior, reinforcing the human-animal bond, internal medicine, and ultrasound.

Dr. Jenna Koenigstein

Is a 2012 graduate from Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and prior she received her bachelor’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY in 2007. She worked as a veterinary technician for many summers during her undergraduate and veterinary school years and was eager to return to the area as an associate doctor.

Dr. Paul Crawford

Is a 2009 graduate from Temple University in Philadelphia where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then traveled down to the beautiful island of Grenada to study at St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine for three years. After a year of clinical studies at the University of Tennessee, he graduated with his veterinary degree in 2014. Following graduation, Dr. Crawford completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. Prior to veterinary school and during school breaks, he worked as a veterinary technician and spent a summer as an extern at the Philadelphia Zoo.

Dr. Ross Gottlieb

Is a 2015 graduate from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology from the University of Miami in 2011. He is originally from North Brunswick and is excited to be back in his beloved home state of New Jersey to start his veterinary career.
